Our History
UNIFI was founded in New York City in 1999 as one of the early pioneers of Voice over IP. From the beginning, we made a deliberate choice: to go where connectivity is hardest to deliver.
Today, UNIFI is a licensed international carrier connecting more than 450 communication providers across 70+ countries. But our numbers only tell part of the story.
Our specialty is the world's most complex telecommunications environments: frontier markets, post-conflict economies, sanctioned and heavily regulated jurisdictions, and geographies where infrastructure, politics, and compliance intersect in ways most carriers avoid. Operating in these markets demands more than network engineering. It requires deep regulatory expertise, licensed and compliant frameworks, trusted government relationships on multiple sides of a route, and the patience to build where others see only risk.

Under Adrian's leadership, UNIFI has grown from a New York startup into one of the largest independent wholesale carriers in the world by network reach, interconnecting more than 450 operators across 70+ countries, with operations spanning the Eastern Mediterranean, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. UNIFI group companies have ranked among TeleGeography's top 15 global wholesale voice carriers. Adrian has spent his career at the intersection of telecommunications, international markets, and government relations, structuring and delivering projects in jurisdictions where technology, regulation, and geopolitics converge. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan.

Our team operates across continents, languages, and legal systems, combining carrier-grade engineering with the regulatory, diplomatic, and commercial skill that complex markets demand.
